University of Dayton was looking to develop an out-of-the-box, highly personalized, and premium yield package for prospective students, breaking the mold by accepting these top tier students in a way that has never been done.
With that in mind, we set out to get unique, individual responses from the students during the application process by asking the question “how do you plan to create change in the world?” We then chose from over 600 responses to create a mural on campus.
Known for his collage-style murals, we selected New York artist Timothy Goodman to produce the mural in his signature style, working only with black Sharpie paint markers.
A photograph of the finished mural was used in the print piece; a fold-out poster of the finished mural with lead-in copy explaining to the student how their personal response was used along with hundreds of others to create this impactful work of art on campus.
From the print piece the student is directed to a website where they can explore the mural and watch the video of mural being created, while at the same time learning how their values align with Dayton. The piece also encourages the student to take the final step and enroll.
